Q&A... We are asked

rectified tile / stone at miami carpet and tile

While most people have never heard of "rectified" tile, those individuals wanting to minimize grout lines have opted for rectified tiles.

Unlike your typical factory-edged tile, rectified tile has been cut to size after the firing process. This process creates a precise, 90 degree angle edge and, as a result, can be laid with a tighter grout joint than unrectified tile (as small as 1/16″). If you’re wanting a smooth, sophisticated and continuous look on your floor or walls, choose rectified tile.

While it is impossible to have "invisible" grout lines, rectified tile makes it possible to achieve the smallest grout lines since the rectified tiles as much more "square" in tolerance than traditional tiles. However, perfection in the manufacturing of tiles does increase the cost of the tile.
